Multi-Project D365 Supply Chain Transformation
A large Canadian food and beverage manufacturer operating multiple production and distribution locations required specialized Dynamics expertise across a series of supply-chain modernization initiatives. The environment included Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and legacy Dynamics AX, with complex warehouse, EDI, transportation, planning and third-party integration requirements.
Econix was engaged as the lead senior solution consultant to deliver a series of distinct supply chain and integration projects across both platforms.
Complexity at Scale
Managing 3PL warehouse operations, EDI trading-partner compliance, planning enhancements for work-in-process complexity, and multiple third-party integrations — all within a live production Dynamics environment. Every change carried operational risk. Every integration had to work the first time.
The Projects Delivered
Each project was scoped, designed and delivered by Econix's senior consulting team with direct accountability for outcomes.
D365 — 3PL Warehouse & EDI Integration
Configured third-party logistics warehouse operations within Dynamics 365 and designed, built and tested EDI integration supporting retail trading-partner requirements, including purchase orders, shipment notices and invoicing.
Dynamics AX — Product Information Integration
Implemented integration between Dynamics AX and an external product-information platform, enabling centralized product-data synchronization across downstream sales and retail channels.
Dynamics AX — Transportation Management Integration
Integrated Dynamics AX with an external transportation-management platform to support carrier processes, freight management, shipment visibility and shipping documentation across multi-site operations.
Dynamics AX — WIP & MRP Enhancements
Extended Dynamics AX planning functionality to address work-in-process complexity, production scheduling, batch-processing requirements and material-yield considerations.
Dynamics AX — Industry System Integration
Implemented integration between Dynamics AX and a specialized third-party industry platform, including end-to-end data-flow validation, testing and production deployment.
Approach: Senior-Led, Hands-On Delivery
What set these engagements apart was the delivery model. Every project was led directly by a senior Econix consultant.
Senior-Led, Hands-On Delivery
Every project led directly by a senior Econix consultant with deep cross-platform expertise spanning both Dynamics AX and Dynamics 365 F&O. This meant faster decision-making and minimal disruption to live production environments. The same person who designed the solution built it, tested it and supported it through go-live.
This delivery model matters in manufacturing environments, where a configuration error or integration failure can stop a production line.
Results
The projects were delivered across successive engagement phases, each building on the system knowledge established in the previous one.
Continuity Across Multiple Engagements
The projects were delivered across multiple engagement phases, allowing the consulting team to build progressively deeper knowledge of the Dynamics environment and operating requirements. That continuity supported faster design decisions, lower handoff risk and more consistent delivery across successive supply-chain initiatives.
